Only 19 Queenland schools made Australia’s Top 100 Schools 2026 list, of which eight (42%) were Anglican.

Complied by News Corp, the exclusive list considers a range of factors, including:

  • Year 12 ATAR scores, to assess overall achievement at the culmination of secondary schooling.
  • Year 7 and 9 NAPLAN results across five subjects, to assess academic achievement at younger year levels.
  • School facilities, in particular specialist learning centres and advanced sporting facilities such as pools and gyms.
  • The breadth of subjects available to students.
  • Student-teacher ratios, to assess opportunities for personalised learning.
  • Attendance rates, to assess engagement of the student cohort.
  • The prestige of each school within the broader community.
  • School community socio-economic advantage ratings.

Anglican Archbishop of Brisbane, and Metropolitan of the Province of Queensland, The Most Reverend Jeremy Greaves said the extraordinary results recognise the dedication and hard work of Queensland’s Anglican students, and their remarkable teachers.

“It is amazing recognition for our students and acknowledges the learning environments within our schools that have allowed them to thrive,” Archbishop Greaves said.

“The inspiring, holistic education opportunities, shaped by our Anglican Identity, that are available at our schools, and Education and Care Services, set our students up for success, so they can lead rich, fulfilling, meaningful lives.”

Acting Executive Director, Anglican Schools Commission, Geoff Newton, said the Top 100 Schools 2026 list highlights the exceptional education that is available to every student who attends an Anglican school in Queensland.

“The Anglican Schools Commission is committed to fostering communities where students, staff, and families can flourish in faith, learning, and service,” Mr Newton said.

“Our schools value the individual and produce balanced, future ready citizens.

“Recognition by New Corp acknowledges the skill, passion, and commitment of our fabulous teachers and school leaders, and the breath of opportunities available to our students.”
